A car-buying copilot

Car shopping has become
a part-time job.

Tell us about your budget, your people, your cargo, your commute, and your road trips. We narrow the field, explain the tradeoffs, and say out loud what each car gives up.

  • The best match is not for sale.
  • No dealership pressure. No 47 open tabs.
  • We will tell you when the answer is โ€œkeep your current car.โ€
Step 1 of 5

Choose as many as fit. None is a fine answer too.

Here is what we heard

Your top 10, ranked

Ranked by the same formula, every time. Prices are rough used-market estimates, not quotes โ€” the out-the-door number is always higher.

Not quite right? Push back.

These re-rank everything as you drag. Your hard requirements โ€” seats, towing, an open bed, anything you ruled out โ€” have no slider on purpose. No amount of dragging should make a five-seater carry seven people.

How this ranks. Every score is a fixed weighted average of the components your answers unlocked — price fit, seats, powertrain fit for your charging and trips, cargo, rear-seat room for car seats, running cost, third-row usability, towing, an open bed, sliding doors, self-driving capability, crash safety, acceleration, terrain and AWD, parking, sunroof, how you want it to feel, and your stated tie-breaker. A component only counts once you have answered what it depends on, so an unfinished brief is never scored on guesses. Two of them size themselves to your answer: crash safety and running cost weigh more the more you said they matter.

Two things act as gates rather than deductions, because they are requirements and not preferences: if you tow, a vehicle that cannot pull your load has its final score cut; and anything you explicitly ruled out is pushed down and told on itself in the card. No dealer can change any of this, and nothing on this page is sponsored.

Watch for these, everywhere at once

We generate the saved search for each marketplace with your brief already filled in. You open it, save it under your own account, and point the alert email at the address below. Then the listings come to one place, de-duplicated.

We do not create accounts for you. The searches live in your name, on your account, which is why they keep working. It also means we never automate anything these sites would rather we did not.
About these links. Marketplace URL formats change without notice, so each one is a best effort and is shown to you before you use it. If a link lands somewhere wrong, adjust the filters on the site itself โ€” the saved search is what matters, not how you got to it. CarGurus keys its models by internal IDs we cannot derive, so that one opens the search and you pick the model once.
