- Ford Fusion: Drives better than most midsize saloons and was discontinued anyway. Cheap now.
- Volkswagen Passat: Enormous rear legroom for the money. Discontinued here, so the used ones are the deal.
- Nissan Altima: The CVT has a mixed long-term record, so service history matters more than usual.
- Kia Forte: A big boot, a long warranty and standard driver aids. Nothing about it is exciting.
