- Land Rover Defender: Goes anywhere a Wrangler goes and is far nicer inside. Thirsty, and not cheap to fix.
- Lexus RX 450h+: Superb but expensive, and the plug-in version is genuinely hard to find used.
- Mercedes-Benz GLE: Superb to sit in, expensive to keep. Out of warranty, one repair costs a used Civic.
- BMW X6: An X5 with a sloped roof: the same money for less headroom and a smaller boot.
